1. Full Story Summary (spoiler-aware but not graphic)
Kajal is happily married to Ravi, a successful singer. Their life feels perfect until Ravi is wrongly accused of murder and sentenced to prison. While escaping custody, Ravi is believed to have died in an accident. Kajal is devastated and becomes a widow, struggling to move on from her loss.
Years later, Kajal meets Raja, a wealthy, spoiled, and extremely emotional young man. Raja falls deeply obsessed with Kajal. At first, she rejects him, but gradually she is touched by his sincerity and intensity. With time, Kajal agrees to marry Raja, hoping to start life again.
However, Ravi is actually alive. He returns, having survived and rebuilt his life quietly. Ravi discovers that Kajal is about to marry another man. Instead of anger, he faces the painful reality that Kajal deserves happiness—even if it’s not with him.
The film builds toward an emotional conflict between past love (Ravi) and present passion (Raja), ending with acceptance, maturity, and sacrifice.
2. Shah Rukh Khan’s Role (Raja)
-
Character name: Raja Sahai
-
This was Shah Rukh Khan’s first film as a lead actor
-
Raja is:
-
Intense
-
Emotionally unstable

-

This role laid the foundation for SRK’s later “intense lover” characters in films like Darr and Baazigar.
